DYMAN — Dynamically Managed Self-Cooling HPC Data Centers (EU EIC Pathfinder)
Source: https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101161930
Provenance: EU-funded project / CORDIS factsheet. Pre-commercial (prototype stage as of mid-2026).
Key findings
- 3-year EIC Pathfinder Challenges project (Grant 101161930), 10 partners (Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium), incl. Sorption Technologies GmbH (SorTech successor).
- Developing new low-temperature adsorbents working below 50 C driving temperature (below EMM-8’s 63 C regime).
- Novel 3D-printed adsorption heat exchangers embedding sorbent in a porous structure to cut internal thermal resistance and exploit two-phase flow.
- Target: power data-center cooling from waste heat (data centers ~200-500 TWh).
- Status mid-2026: chiller-prototype / demonstration stage, pre-commercial.
